Finding Justice: When Thirst meets Water
Thirst meets water
In a union
Thirst meets water
For they are bare
Empty
Nothing
Without each other
As Palestinian Prisoners
Arbitrarily imprisoned
Hunger Strike
2 months and counting
75 days
And counting
Thirst meets water
In a union
Absorbed in need
Thirst meets water
For life is its essence for survival
As we shed our skin
Our eyes no longer filled
Like the pits of politicians
Filled
These eyes shed
What no longer is held
In the silent screams
Waiting to unite
Thirst and water
In union
In need
We are witnesses to inhumanity
As thirst and water
Separated in injustice
Broken hearts
Loveless love
In lonesome
As mind over body
Stands in strength in
Meaning
Towards a tomorrow
Not yet carved for the soul to capture
Till we return to when
Thirst and water
Meet
Quenched in a survival for life
In liberty
Beyond shackles
Beyond separation
When thirst and water join
And these tears finally shed
The truth in its
Ultimate purpose
To meet
The deserts calling for
Thirst and water
