>What Shift?

>A shift in consciousness does not imply doing, it implies being. To transform unawareness into awareness, one need not do anything. Doing implies form. Form in the realm of body, thought, or emotions; whereas “Being” is formless. The first step in shifting is in becoming aware that what I am is other than form. I am the collective consciousness where all doing/acting takes place. I am the canvas where the masterpiece rests. I am the background awareness where acts, thoughts, feelings, and experiences take place.

The shift is in reality an illusion. The ego is a veil that comes in the way between the real “I am” and the egotistic “I am”. The shift is in recognizing the ego. The shift naturally takes place when one becomes the watcher and not the doer. We see ourselves seeing, we see ourselves doing, we see ourselves act. We are the canvas where the happenings of the Universe take place. We are utter stillness, presence, awareness, or being.

Being is now. Being is not then or there. The key to our being, the access to being is in the now. Now is timeless. Time denotes past or future and can therefore be understood, contemplated, or thought through. The realm of mind is bound by time and form and therefore cannot access timeless being. One cannot understand being, one can only be.
